Blue Angels

Each Spring the Blue Angels fly over Annapolis as they put on one of their famous shows for the Naval Academy commencement. I went downtown with my friend Angela and Charlotte to watch the show. It was pretty amazing. And even though it was a bit loud, Charlotte managed to sleep through the whole show!

First cookout at our community beach

Our community beach is the perfect spot for a summer cookout. We headed down to the beach one evening last week for the first cookout of the summer season. Chuck fired up the grill, while Charlotte and I enjoyed the warm Bay breeze. Charlotte enjoyed sitting in her rocking chair, she even took a little nap :) We're looking forward to many more cookouts this summer!

Meeting Sophia

The third of four babies has joined us (the fourth, Angelica's little girl will be here June 5th!)! My friend, Nikki, delivered a super cute little girl on May 8th. Little Sophia has a full head of hair! We brought Charlotte by to meet her and Heather stopped by with her daughter, Kate.

The weather was really nice in Wisconsin while we were there. We got to enjoy lots of time outside.

Cousins

Charlotte took her first trip last week to Madison, Wisconsin to see Aunt Lisa again, and to meet her cousins and Uncle Scott. The plane ride went great! Charlotte slept, ate, and just looked around the entire time. She may be a world traveller!

The whole visit was great. Anna and Mary Jane were so excited to meet Charlotte. They couldn't get enough of her! And Charlotte loved all the attention. This visit was first of many fun times for these three cousins!

To welcome Charlotte, Anna made a fabulous crown that said "Welcome Charlotte" on it. Charlotte wore it with pride....happy to be part of the gang!

Everyone got to hold Charlotte, waiting patiently until it was their turn. Mary Jane was especially attentive to Charlotte's needs, covering her up, suggesting soothing ideas, setting up toys for her, and watching her "drink".

Anna enjoyed "talking" with Charlotte. Charlotte just started cooing while we were in Madison, so Anna would ask her questions and Charlotte would coo back her answers. Anna thought this was great and translated her coos for all of us. Anna also took a picture of Charlotte in to Show & Share at school. Very proud to show off her new cousin!

All Smiles!

Charlotte woke up this morning all smiley, perhaps she knew it was Grandma Sue's birthday today. She's been smiling for a couple weeks now, but these are the first grins we've caught on camera.

We dedicate these first smiles to Grandma Sue :)

We love you and miss you.

Meeting Grandpa

Charlotte was happy to meet her Grandpa last weekend! Grandpa and Grandma Linda arrived Friday afternoon and stayed til late Monday. We had a few days of nice weather. We took a couple walks around our neighborhood and went downtown Annapolis and toured the Naval Academy.

Grandpa found a new way to sooth little Charlotte when she cries: he makes a motorcycle engine sound and blows on her face...a simulated motorcycle ride! Don't get any ideas, Gramps!
